Mending the Soul

HEALING JOURNEY

Mending the Soul is a non-professional counseling group which follows the steps laid out by professional therapist Celestia Tracy. This powerful program provides a safe group structure in which abuse survivors can share their stories, find commonalities, and discover a path to healing.

This effective curriculum utilizes proven abuse healing techniques while also rooting the theory and practice in the Bible. Our Mending the Soul group allows women to come together and heal from physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual trauma and abuse. Group members have told us that the process of working toward recovery together creates spiritual support, showing each group member that she is not abnormal and that she can recover from trauma.

Our goal is to provide this incredible and powerful recovery method to all who need it.

The Impact

While Mending the Soul is a private, safe group, some of our participants have chosen to share their stories. Here is just one story about the impact of this program on one of our group members:

“I grew up isolated, burdened with shame, guilt, and alienation. It wasn’t until years later that I faced the fact that I was sexually molested as a three-year-old. Up until this realization, I was unaware where my self-hatred came from and where it would lead me. I was on the road to self-mutilation, early alcoholism, and drug addiction. I sought abusive relationships and escaped into prostitution.
“Then, one day, I cried out to the Lord and He heard me. He met me where I was and told me He loved me. He was the first Man to show me loyalty. He stood by my side in my unbelief and mistrust, and He stands with me as He tenderly teaches me how to live.
“God, in His love, led me to Celebrate Recovery, where I met a woman who showed me grace and introduced me to Divine Threads.
“This was the first time in my life where I was willing to receive a genuine hand, and what I received were hearts full of compassion, truth, and transparency.
“As God stands with me, so do the women of Divine Threads. In my first and very raw process of exploring and healing from my past, I am in a small group where we are going through the book, “Mending the Soul” together. The fact that I’m not alone in pain motivates me. I am learning to love myself and claim what I need. I am allowed boundaries, feelings, thoughts, and the ability to become me.” – Alexa
